Every Heart Beats True, To The Red White & Blue

The National Flag Day Foundation is pleased to announce that there will be a Flag Day Celebration in Waubeka at the Americanism Center, June 12th 2022.

Celebrations kick off at 11am with music and celebratory program.

Followed by a parade, food, & fun for the whole family. Sand pile treasure hunt, bounce house, bags, live music, face painting, obstacle course, vendors and more.

Boots Q ’n Boogie will also be participating, with food and drink specials. Plus live music by Midlife Oasis.

A crowd favorite of the event is the 60’ by 40’ American Flag that is displayed at the Americanism Center (it takes 7 people to raise between two utility poles) and serves as a popular photo background. At dusk, Waubeka is lit up with a patriotic fireworks display that concludes with an iconic display of “Old Glory” herself.

Throughout the day, the Americanism Center Museum is open to explore. The museum features three rooms, each dedicated to a specific vision.

The first is a military museum and includes photos, uniforms, essay from various schools, presidential photos, and scout photos among other items.

The second museum depicts an early history of Waubeka with memorabilia and furnishings from the post office, general store, hardware store, butcher shop, barbershop, and much more.

The third museum is completely dedicated to Bernard J. Cigrand—his writings, photos, history, and homestead.

Flag Day is pleased to be honoring the volunteers of the Honor Flight Network and all Military!

The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization that honors America’s veterans for all the sacrifices they have made for our great country. They do this by flying these heroes to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials of the respective war they fought in and receive a day of highest military honors at no cost to the veterans. The volunteers at these hubs work tireless to ensure that these veterans are able to receive the honor that they are so deserving of, and The National Flag Day Foundation is so excited to honor these volunteers at our event this year.
